Paris is known for its famous buildings and works of art, its chic fashion scene and its modern literary, artistic, and intellectual ideals, and is a must for anyone wishing to experience the best of both contemporary and age old European culture. Innumerable monuments built to reflect the glory of France and its rulers stand testament to the city’s rich history and have led Paris to be the world's most popular tourist destination. Famous sites and landmarks include the Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, Place de la Bastille, and the Luxembourg Gardens.
Be sure to go to the area north of the river, the Rive Droite, to see the tree-lined Avenue des Champs Elysees, running west from the Arc de Triomphe. East of the avenue is the Musée du Louvre, the Centre Georges Pompidou and a lively district of museums, shops, markets and restaurants. Immediately south on the Ile de la Cite is Notre Dame Cathedral. West along the river you will find the city’s trademark, the Eiffel Tower. If you are intrigued by Paris’ famous academic, artistic and intellectual enclave, the Saint Germain de Pres and Montparnasse districts are located just to the east. top ^ AccomodationHotel les Jardins du Marais
The hotel’s restaurant extends into the gardens and can accommodate around 50 diners. This sophisticated setting, complete with Philippe Starck furnishing and long mauve velvet benches, is enhanced by the light filtering through the impressive atrium windows. When night falls, the Renée Vendrig Big Diamond chandeliers create a very stylish atmosphere. The restaurant features attractively presented, modern French-style cuisine, and a menu that changes with the seasons.
The individually designed rooms and suites have flat screen HD cable TV, ADSL, Video on Demand, a direct telephone line, safe, minibar, wet bar, hairdryer and air conditioning.
