Dear Ole Miss Travelers,

I invite you to join us on our traditional Ole Miss winter vacation in Europe. This time, by popular demand, we will be traveling to Paris, France in January 2012.

No matter how often you may have been to Paris, there is always something new to be discovered in this magnificent world-class city. We can be sure of the finest architecture, superb dining, outstanding theater and music performances and great shopping.

Beyond experiencing the city itself, with free time for your own explorations, our day trips will travel through the countryside and visit nearby historic monuments. In a significant change from past years, all excursions are included in the trip price.

Whatever your pleasure, our unique vacation to Paris promises beautiful scenery, magnificent art and architecture, excellent food and wines, and most important, the camaraderie and fun we always have when we travel together. Our special escort and friend Angelika will welcome us as we arrive.

I am looking forward to hosting our group and to welcome you on this tour which definitely is one you do not want to miss. Please return your reservation form as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Timothy L. Walsh

Paris, France

Paris FranceSituated on the river Seine and known as the "City of Lights," Paris is one of the world's foremost centers of business and culture.

Paris is known for its famous buildings and works of art, its chic fashion scene and its modern literary, artistic, and intellectual ideals, and is a must for anyone wishing to experience the best of both contemporary and age old European culture.

Innumerable monuments built to reflect the glory of France and its rulers stand testament to the city’s rich history and have led Paris to be the world's most popular tourist destination.

Famous sites and landmarks include the Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, Place de la Bastille, and the Luxembourg Gardens.

Champs Elysees Paris France

Be sure to go to the area north of the river, the Rive Droite, to see the tree-lined Avenue des Champs Elysees, running west from the Arc de Triomphe.

East of the avenue is the Musée du Louvre, the Centre Georges Pompidou and a lively district of museums, shops, markets and restaurants.

Immediately south on the Ile de la Cite is Notre Dame Cathedral.

West along the river you will find the city’s trademark, the Eiffel Tower. If you are intrigued by Paris’ famous academic, artistic and intellectual enclave, the Saint Germain de Pres and Montparnasse districts are located just to the east.
