Val d'Isère

Above all think snow! How much snow? Thirty feet isn't unusual. With a base at 1,850 meters (6,070 feet) and the best skiing at over 3,400 meters (11,155 feet) at the top, there's plenty to ski. Espace Killy, which sprawls along a series of peaks and plateau above Val d'Isère, is named for France's most famous skier and multiple gold medal winner.

Expect world-class après-ski, too. It gets dark early in Val d'Isère, deep in the valley along Val d'Isère River. That may be why Happy Hour starts at 4:00 p.m. Nightlife can vary from quiet drinks in the Hotel Christiania Bar, to a fine dinner, to the amazing assortment of clubs.

Les Cretes Blanches (2-Star)
This 30 room hotel was built in 1965 by the Vaquier family. Located in the heart of Val d'Is?re, the hotel is just seconds away from shops, restaurants and pubs and close to the Bellevarde and Solaise ski lifts. The spacious rooms are fully equipped with satellite TV and have either bath tub or shower.
